Confronting Death with Pets, Music and Good Hair

What can you do for someone who has less than three months to live? Those who volunteer with Dover Park Hospice (DPH) come face to face with this question on a regular basis. Sounds grim, but it's not. The volunteers provide music, massage services, food and playdates with pets for the patients to enjoy, spreading happiness with a smile, a song, a touch. It doesn't take much, and yet it means a lot to the patients. { read more }

Be The Change

Like a smile, happiness is infectious. See if you can bring joy to someone today, with a smile, a warm comment, a song, or a touch of your sympathetic hand.

Change #2: Bring joy to the patients of Dover Park Hospice or a hospice near you by volunteering,paying visits to the sick, reading them books, or in any way you can.

Change #3: Take your pet to visit with someone who may be suffering, ill, or lonely. Find a way to make them feel someone cares with warmth and flowers.
